Here and Now:

My sleep too long, my body is like so tired, and I've had several dreams that I can no longer remember, it means none of them are significant or messages from GOD. While I am sleepy in bed, I also talk to GOD. I was struggling to be awake earlier than 5AM even though I had been waking up before my alarm went off, but Gaw Arlene chatted her dream to me making me think and awake.

Peter’s Vision

9 The next day, as they went on their journey and drew near the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray, about [a]the sixth hour. 10 Then he became very hungry and wanted to eat; but while they made ready, he fell into a trance 11 and saw heaven opened and an object like a great sheet bound at the four corners, descending to him and let down to the earth. 12 In it were all kinds of four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, creeping things, and birds of the air. 13 And a voice came to him, “Rise, Peter; kill and eat.”

14 But Peter said, “Not so, Lord! For I have never eaten anything common or unclean.”

15 And a voice spoke to him again the second time, “What God has [b]cleansed you must not call common.” 16 This was done three times. And the object was taken up into heaven again.

30 So Cornelius said, [e]“Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing, 31 and said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your [f]alms are remembered in the sight of God. 32 Send therefore to Joppa and call Simon here, whose surname is Peter. He is lodging in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the sea. [g]When he comes, he will speak to you.’ 33 So I sent to you immediately, and you have done well to come. Now therefore, we are all present before God, to hear all the things commanded you by God.”

Jesus Heals a Centurion's Servant

1 After he had finished all his sayings in the hearing of the people, he entered Capernaum. 2 Now a centurion had a servant[a] who was sick and at the point of death, who was highly valued by him. 3 When the centurion[b] heard about Jesus, he sent to him elders of the Jews, asking him to come and heal his servant. 4 And when they came to Jesus, they pleaded with him earnestly, saying, “He is worthy to have you do this for him, 5 for he loves our nation, and he is the one who built us our synagogue.” 6 And Jesus went with them. When he was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying to him, “Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you come under my roof. 7 Therefore I did not presume to come to you. But say the word, and let my servant be healed. 8 For I too am a man set under authority, with soldiers under me: and I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” 9 When Jesus heard these things, he marveled at him, and turning to the crowd that followed him, said, “I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such faith.” 10 And when those who had been sent returned to the house, they found the servant well.

Observation

In Acts 10 GOD is dealing with Peter's biases by showing him through a vision to do something that jews are commanded never to do: Eat Pig, but GOD was emphasizing to Peter something more than just food, it was how they were to treat people outside of their race and to invite them to be part of GOD's assembly and presence. In the same book GOD is showing me that I am a Cornelius and GOD is pleased with those whose hearts are humble and seeking HIM that HE would invite them to join the elite assembly of GOD's Saint. In Luke 7, GOD is showing me the posture of the heart of a person that pleases GOD, it was not only the centurions faith that pleased GOD but HIS reverence for JESUS, recognizing that he was unworthy even to come to JESUS yet he is asking for GOD to heal HIS servant because he was a good man who cared for his servants well being and because HE knew understood that JESUS is GOD and that HE was loving and kind.

Application

With Cornelius, GOD has shown me that HE is pleased with a man's devotion and care for other people. With the Centurion, GOD is pleased with a man's humility, fear of GOD, care and his faith. I will pray that GOD give me such devotion and care like Cornelius, and the humility, fear of GOD, care and faith of the Centurion because I want GOD to be pleased with me. 

Prayers

Dear AVI,

O GREAT and Glorious GOD who is my King and Savior, whose love for me is everlasting, who rules the Heavens and Earth, Almighty ONE that I call my FATHER, I bless YOU today O GOD for YOU are worthy of all glory and praise. Forgive me LORD that I come to YOU so carelessly, it is because of YOUR love that assures me that I am accepted no matter what I do, I am loved and YOUR gracious mercy has forgiven me of all the wrongs I have done and all that I may still do in the future. Forgive me but help me to strive to be perfect and holy like YOU, to be pleasing to YOU like Cornelius and the Centurion. AVI, they want me to sing and lead worship in Church again. I don't know if I still have the ability to do it because I have not been doing that for a long time, and I am enjoying serving YOU in the backstage. I don't like being in the center O GOD help me. I don't like the pressure, and I don't like the responsibility but if YOU want me to lead, then give me the willingness, power and grace to do it because I cannot do anything without YOU. Even today O GOD teach me, help me to be a faithful worker who does Accounting for the family businesses. Please I pray that Anacel will be able to teach me what I need to learn and I pray that YOU give us an internal Accountant who will do our reporting and filings for us O GOD. I pray for YOUR grace to lead me where YOU want me to go. At this point, I have died to myself once again. No more desire to marry because I may just want it but I don't have the energy to be responsible for it. I really do not know myself O GOD but YOU know me better than I know myself and so here I am without desires anymore and it's a very sad thing to live without a dream or desire in my heart. But YOU are my desire, and I pray that YOU will come for us soon, and rule as the peace of Jerusalem because this world is getting worst! O GOD, when I have no desire, I lose the will to live. So help me GOD because YOU have given me good health and I want to live for YOU while I am here on earth so help me GOD, help me. And I continue to pray for the salvation, deliverance and healing of Stephen Yu, Benita Yu, Lilian Yu, Sabina Yu, Janin Rose Gulfan, Carlo Rebadomia, Kyle Chua, Sandro Muhlach and the healing of the See family as they have lost their brother and son. I pray O GOD that YOU revive me, take care of me as I struggle in this life, be my life, be my joy, be my everything. Be merciful to me O GOD and deliver me from every trouble and pain and suffering and deliver me to Heaven when YOU finally come to pick us up, deliver me to YOUR loving arms. For YOU deserve all my devotion, glory, honor, praise, love and worship.
