Teaching About Divorce
1 Now when Jesus had finished these sayings, he went away from Galilee and entered the region of Judea beyond the Jordan. 2 And large crowds followed him, and he healed them there.
3 And Pharisees came up to him and tested him by asking, “Is it lawful to divorce one's wife for any cause?” 4 He answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, 5 and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? 6 So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.” 7 They said to him, “Why then did Moses command one to give a certificate of divorce and to send her away?” 8 He said to them, “Because of your hardness of heart Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so. 9 And I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.”[a]
10 The disciples said to him, “If such is the case of a man with his wife, it is better not to marry.” 11 But he said to them, “Not everyone can receive this saying, but only those to whom it is given. 12 For there are eunuchs who have been so from birth, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let the one who is able to receive this receive it.”
Let the Children Come to Me
13 Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked the people, 14 but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” 15 And he laid his hands on them and went away.
ObservationI always feel hopeful every time I read scriptures about how GOD made a man to leave his parents and cleave to his wife and that no one should separate them. I feel hopeful because it means GOD is teaching me to prepare me for my own marriage. I feel happy that GOD is preparing me because I have been waiting and praying for so long to be married yet GOD has not heard my prayers and it seems to me that GOD is harsh to me because HE has not given to me what I have asked. I just tell myself that I am may not be ready as I thought I am. GOD knows that I might destroy my own marriage if I marry at the wrong time.
ApplicationI am trusting GOD with my life, but the WORDS HE gives me each day encourages my heart to keep hoping in the LORD, to keep believing in HIS WORD and learning what HE is trying to teach me because one day when the time is right and HE believes I am ready, HE will give to me more than what I have asked or desired. I want to be like a little child in GOD's arms and in HIS love, I want to keep trusting my FATHER that HE is working out everything for me, even my husband to be the best man to take care of me, HE is working out for me myself to be the best wife. When GOD finally gives me my hearts desire, I want to remember that things don't have to be perfect but whoever I marry is GOD's chosen man and he is perfect for me.
PrayersDear AVIBlessed are YOU O GOD HOLY, FAITHFUL, and TRUE reigning as KING and Sovereign over all! YOU are my Loving FATHER who is always looking out for me, YOU are my FATHER, who is preparing the very best for me. The longer I wait I know the sweeter this blessing of marriage will be for me. O GOD help me to keep looking up to YOU for protection, for provision for love. Protect me and cover me and my husband with the blood of JESUS that we will always be preserved. YOU know O GOD how I have always prayed for him and how I am praying for people because YOU have put a love in my heart for them. I pray for Uncle Stephen Gaisano and his wife Mary, that YOU bless them with joy and gladness and a deep meaningful relationship with YOU because they need YOU O GOD! They need YOU, and they cannot be fulfilled without YOU, they cannot achieve happiness without YOU. I pray that YOU will indeed send someone to minister to them. I pray that YOU prepare for me a wonderful husband because after meeting Sydney their son, I came to realize that there are other people that exceed Stephen Yu, the One that I love for now... I really was very attracted to the kindness, and quietness of Sydney and the way he was just content, there was something very unique and attractive about him. I thank YOU for showing me that somebody else can be better than the best I see now. Of course I am not considering Sydney because he is married but he was so attractive that if ever he would be widowed I want to be that woman to be beside him but that's not the point, the point is I never thought I would be so much attracted to such a kind of male. That kind - the silent meek yet powerful kind! Yet his power did not rest on the parents he had, he did not exert that kind of aura that he was a prince who can do anything he liked, he was very meek but strong in the inside, very secure even though he was the second child. LORD, give me someone like that, who is a prince because YOU are his father and who is very secure in YOU and in the world around him. His security is not resting on his riches or his name but in YOU our FATHER. Thank YOU for that husband LORD! I also want him to look like Sydney and Stephen, cause they are very similar looking, round and bigger, cute, not too tall just right for me. Thank YOU FATHER! All glory and honor and power belongs to YOU and all things are possible O GOD with YOU!
