Back to Work Day

Here and Now:

I woke up later than usual around 6plus and it's a work day because I felt so tired my body needed to rest from the trip we had from Thailand and I'm so glad to be back home but I was so blessed to be there in the Conference at Thailand because GOD used HIS servant to speak HIS word to me.

14 But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.

Hebrews 6:1-20

English Standard Version

1 Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, 2 and of instruction about washings,[a] the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. 3 And this we will do if God permits. 4 For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, 6 and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt. 7 For land that has drunk the rain that often falls on it, and produces a crop useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God. 8 But if it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless and near to being cursed, and its end is to be burned.

9 Though we speak in this way, yet in your case, beloved, we feel sure of better things—things that belong to salvation. 10 For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do. 11 And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end, 12 so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

The Certainty of God's Promise

13 For when God made a promise to Abraham, since he had no one greater by whom to swear, he swore by himself, 14 saying, “Surely I will bless you and multiply you.” 15 And thus Abraham,[b] having patiently waited, obtained the promise. 16 For people swear by something greater than themselves, and in all their disputes an oath is final for confirmation. 17 So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character of his purpose, he guaranteed it with an oath, 18 so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us. 19 We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, 20 where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.

ObservationGOD wants all HIS children to mature so that we will gain powers of discernment gained by constant practice to distinguish what is of GOD and not of HIM. HE wants us to labor in love, serve HIM in HIS family by loving HIS people, HE does not want us to be lazy but to work hard for HIM so that having patiently waited, we will obtain the promise HE has given us. HE wants to show me - as an heir of HIS promise, HIS unchangeable character of HIS purpose, HIS faithfulness by guaranteeing me with an OATH, for it is Impossible for GOD to lie. 

ApplicationI place my hope and trust in GOD, everyday I constantly seek HIM for refuge, (from all the insecurities of life, all the lies of the enemy) because I want to be strong and encouraged to hold fast to the hope HE gave me. The hope I have is the sure and steadfast anchor of my soul, a hope that enters into GOD's holiest of holy, whom JESUS who is the author of my hope has gone on my behalf to receive what is mine and give it to me. I do not receive GOD's promise because I am worthy, I know I am not, I receive GOD's promise of JESUS, HIS righteousness, HIS faithfulness, not because I am deserving or good enough, HE is the reason why I will have more than what I deserve, because I trust HIM and rely on HIM.

PrayersDear AVI,How Great YOU are O GOD for letting me understand today what is the root of my insecurity. I do not want to operate in my flesh and do everything I can to receive what YOU have promised me because I keep recalling to mind what YOU spoken to me through YOUR Servant Vincent Lim. Thank YOU O GOD for using him to pray for me and speak life to me. I thank YOU O GOD that YOU remind me today that I do no have to help YOU and I do not need to do anything to have what YOU have promised me except to cling to YOU and trust YOU that even without my help or my efforts, YOU will give me a husband who loves me deeply like YOU love me, because it is not by power or by my might but by YOUR SPIRIT that YOU are able to accomplish all the impossible things YOU have promised me. I will never be good enough, intelligent enough, to receive the Promise YOU have for me, I am who I am and it is because of LOVE that I receive, because the man YOU have promised me loves me just as I am. And so I thank YOU for this assurance O GOD, I thank YOU for this comfort. I thank YOU because YOU are taking away all my insecurity and pain. Be glorfied always in my life and I thank YOU for the prayers of YOUR people for me. Thank YOU for enabling me to be in the Spirit of prayer.
