Isaiah 42

English Standard Version

The Lord's Chosen Servant

1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen, in whom my soul delights; I have put my Spirit upon him; he will bring forth justice to the nations.

2 He will not cry aloud or lift up his voice, or make it heard in the street; 3 a bruised reed he will not break, and a faintly burning wick he will not quench; he will faithfully bring forth justice. 4 He will not grow faint or be discouraged[a] till he has established justice in the earth; and the coastlands wait for his law.

5 Thus says God, the Lord, who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and what comes from it, who gives breath to the people on it    and spirit to those who walk in it: 6 “I am the Lord; I have called you[b] in righteousness;    I will take you by the hand and keep you; I will give you as a covenant for the people,    a light for the nations, 7 to open the eyes that are blind, to bring out the prisoners from the dungeon, from the prison those who sit in darkness. 8 I am the Lord; that is my name; my glory I give to no other, nor my praise to carved idols. 9 Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I now declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them.”

ObservationGOD's chosen servant that Isaiah specifically writes about here is JESUS CHRIST our Saving GOD, but when we follow the LORD JESUS, we become like HIM, when we walk in righteousness, we also execute justice when we do what is right. See how the LORD calls us to righteousness in verse 6, HE promises to protect us, to make us like a sign of his promise to people who do not know HIM, to be an eye opener to the blinded, to give hope and set prisoners of darkness free to live in the light of GOD. But yesterday I have observed that our Tax Lawyer was convincing my mother why we ought to pay the right taxes because the government now is very diligent on tracking its tax paying citizens. It is funny how the tax laywer who doesn't proclaim to follow JESUS is now convincing someone who follows JESUS to obey JESUS in an indirect manner. So I am seeing the tax lawyer who doesn't know JESUS as someone who is serving GOD in righteousness because this tax lawyer is now doing what is right more than those who proclaim to follow GOD.
 ApplicationI will continue to follow JESUS and I will follow JESUS by being righteous even in my taxes. How can I bring other souls into GOD's kingdom if there is unrighteousness within me??? I do not want GOD's name to be ridiculed because of the life I live but I am praying for my parents to unlearn the things that were taught to them by their old business peers and that even in their old age, they will turn back to righteousness and do what is right, I cannot leave this family to keep doing wrong when GOD is now warning us to do what is right.

PrayersDear AVI,HOLY and Awesome GOD, YOU are GREAT and JUST in all YOUR WAYS. Please KING JESUS Save my parents from doing what is wrong and help us to pay the right taxes. I cannot do this on my own and that is why YOU have sent a righteous tax lawyer to help us to do what is right and I pray that YOU will let Mom see just how faithful YOU are to her and to us as a family. Please give us eyes of faith that sees YOUR hand at work in all things, because YOU are faithful and TRUE and unto YOU belong all glory honor and praise!

Event The Meeting in the afternoon Here and Now I feel disappointed over Stephen's reaction to our text message yesterday but I just set it aside because I have already decided to let him go as a future mate but not as our lawyer. I still expect him to perform his best as our lawyer. I had weird dreams last night, mostly about work but it's okay because in the first part of my dream I saw myself rescuing my parents from the power of evil.
